Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
In general: Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. Do no eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
IF IN EYES: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, also under the eyelids. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
If ON SKIN: Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Wash off with plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth (only if the person is conscious). Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Take victim immediately to hospital. Artificial respiration and/or oxygen may be necessary.
Fire-fighting measures
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Special exposure hazards in a fire: Not combustible.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Advice for non-emergency personnel:
Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.
Avoid dust formation.
Advice for emergency responders:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Sweep up to prevent slipping hazard.
Prevent further leakage or spillage.
Environmental precautions:
Should not be released into the environment.
Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal.
Keep in properly labelled containers.
Refer to protective measures listed under "handling and storage".
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Use only in well-ventilated areas.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure controls:
Ensure adequate ventilation. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed. Refer to protective
measures listed under “handling and storage”. Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits.
Occupational exposure controls
Please refer to the exposure scenarios for RMMs (chapter 13)
Stability and reactivity
Stability: Stable under recommended storage conditions. Incompatible with acids. Barium oxide, hydrochloric acid. The release of other hazardous decomposition products is possible.
Disposal considerations
Waste from residues / unused products:
In accordance with local and national regulations. Use a solution of sodium or magnesium sulphate or possibly a dilute solution of sulphuric acid to form a sulphate precipitate. Dispose of wastes in an approved waste disposal facility.
Packaging treatment: Containers that cannot be cleaned must be treated as waste or must be incinerated in a suitable incineration plant holding a permit delivered by the competent authorities.
