- GLP compliance:
- not specified
- Radiolabelling:
- no
- Details on sampling:
- Test fish sampling and analyses were conducted every 2 weeks, and control fish analysis before the initiation and the termination of exposure.
- Vehicle:
- no
- Details on preparation of test solutions, spiked fish food or sediment:
- Dilution water used for the test originated from underground water pumped up from the ground of Kurume Research Laboratories.
Water quality and conditions were monitored continuously to meet the ministerial ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (1978) and the water quality criteria for fisheries (1983). - Test organisms (species):
- Cyprinus carpio
- Details on test organisms:
- Weight, length and lipid content of the test fish at the initiation of exposure:
weight: about 30 g
length: about 10 cm
lipid content: 2-6 % - Route of exposure:
- aqueous
- Test type:

- Water / sediment media type:
- natural water: freshwater
- Total exposure / uptake duration:
- 56 d
- Total depuration duration:
- 28 d
- Test temperature:
- The temperature was 25 °C +/- 2 °C
- Dissolved oxygen:
- The concentration of dissolved oxygen was 6 - 8 mg/L.
- Nominal and measured concentrations:
- 2 µg/L

- no
- Lipid content:
- 2 - 6 %
- Time point:
- start of exposure
- Type:
- BCF
- Value:

- Remarks on result:
- other: Conc.in environment / dose:20 µg/L
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The revealed BCF range of 0.3 -1.2 L/kg indicates a very low bioaccumulation potential.
- Executive summary:
An aquatic bioaccumulation test according to OECD Guideline 305C was performed with two test substance concentration levels.
The revealed BCF range of 0.3 -1.2 L/kg indicates a very low bioaccumulation potential.

Description of key information
Bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish (OECD Guideline 305 C, GLP compliance not specified): BCF range of 0.3 -1.2 L/kg indicates a very low bioaccumulation potential.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- BCF (aquatic species):
- 1.2 L/kg ww
Additional information
Bioaccumulation studies on fish (Cyprinus carpio) showed no significant accumulation potential (BCF = 0.3 - 1.2 L/kg after 56 days). Additionally, the experimentally determined log Kow = -0.85 (BASF, 1987) also demonstrates a low potential for bioaccumulation.
