Description of key information

Dynamic viscosity at 20°C : 3.715 mPa s
Kinematic viscosity at 40°C (arithmetic mean of 2 replicates): 2.90 mm^2/s

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
3.715 mPa · s (dynamic)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The viscosity of the submission substance was determined based on ASTM D 445.

Based on the kinematic viscosity of the test item at 40°C (arithmetic mean of 2 replicates) of 2.90 mm^2/s, for hydrocarbons a classification as Aspiration toxicity, Hazard Category 1 would be applicable according to REGULATION (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP). However, constituents of the submission substance are invariably aldehydes. Thus, classification criteria based on viscosity do not apply to the submission substance.

In conclusion, according to REGULATION (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) no classification requirements exist for the submission substance with regard to aspiration toxicity.
