Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A dust content (< 32 µm) of 0.17 % was determined for Bluequat-Bromid which could not be resolved by this method. The mean particle diameter (> 32 to < 250 µm) was calculated to be 152.5 µm

Additional information

The Sieve Analysis and determination of the Dust Content of Bluequat-Bromid (batch number PP 1 -4) was carried out according to CIPAC Handbook Volume F, MT 59 and 58 (1995) on 2008 -04 -15 at Dr.U.Noack-Laboratorien, 31157 Sarstedt, Germany. The sieve analysis was carried out in the dry sieving technique using analytical sieves with the mesh width 32, 45, 62, 75, 90, 125 and 250µm. The amount of fine particles (particle size fraction < 32 µm) removed by preliminary sieving with the 32 µm sieve was determined to be 0.17% of the applied mass. The mean particle diameter without fine dust (> 32 - < 250 µm) was calculated to be 152.5 µm. The particle size distribution without and with fine dust particle size fraction is given in the Table below. A graphical display of the particle size distribution is given in Figure 1 and Figure 2, part 4.3 of the attached study.
