Justification:Column 2 criteria of Annex VII for ready degradability testing of trichlorosilane provide the following adaptations to required testing data:

The study does not need to be conducted if the substance is inorganic.

 

Trichlorosilane is an inorganic liquid substance which hydrolizes immediately and completely upon contact with water. For that reason, no experimental testing for this property could be performed with trichlorosilane.

 

Therefore, biodegradation is not considered to be important environmental fate process for trichlorosilane.
