Description of key information

EC50 (3h) > 1000 mg/L (nominal) (activated sludge, OECD 209); no adverse effects up to the limit of the water solubility

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study on the respiration toxicity of the test substance towards aquatic microorganism was conducted by Muckle (2014). The study was conducted according to GLP and followed OECD guideline 209. Activated sludge was exposed for 3 hours in a static test system. Test concentrations were prepared by direct addition of the test substance. Concentrations ranged from 1 to 1000 mg/L, i.e. above the limit of the water solubility. No adverse effects on the respiration rate were observed during the test. Thus, there are no effects up to the limit of the water solubility and the EC50 (3h) was determined to be > 1000 mg/L based on nominal concentrations.
