weight of evidence
Study period:
March 11, 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
other: OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range); EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range); EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) method was used for the evaluation of melting and boiling points of the test substance. Test was performed according to the SOP - SRT 028 protocol.
GLP compliance:
no
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
solid
Form:
solid
Conclusions:
At 20 °C and 1013 hPa, the substance is solid.
Executive summary:

Method

The test item melting point was determined using the Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) according to the OECD Guidelines 102 and 103.

Results

Water/imbibition solvent release was observed between 83 °C and 120 °C, followed by a little endothermic event between 188 °C and 294 °C (onset at 205.7 °C, enthalpy: -23.2 J/g) and then decomposition between 353 °C and 416 °C (onset at 356.8 °C, enthalpy: 42.7 J/g); therefore boiling point is not recorded.

At 20 °C and 1013 hPa, the substance is solid.
