Description of key information

Carbon dioxide evolution test (OECD Guideline 301 B, EU Method C.4-C):  86 % degradation after 28 days, exceeding 60 % degradation within the 10 day window.

Additional information

The key study is a recent study (2002), performed according to actual guidelines.The carbon dioxide evolution from "Dibutylfumarate" reached a maximum of about 86 % after 28 days of incubation. The "10-d window" as defined by the Guideline started at about Day 3. 60 % degradation was exceeded already at about Day 13. According to the Guidelines a substance giving a result greater than 60 % degradation within a 10-d window within 28 days is regarded as "readily biodegradable".
