Description of key information

Decomposition before melting, between 198 - 356 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
349.84 °C

Additional information

At 80 °C there is an endothermic peak related to the loss of water/solvent, followed by an exothermic peak between 198 -356 °C which is similar to a decomposition (onset 259.8 °C, ΔH = -156.9 J/g).

Since the substance decomposes between 198 - 356 °C no melting point can be measured. Therefore the value of melting point is estimated by the use of EpiSuite 4.1 * with the following SMILE code:

O=S(=O)(O[Na])c5cc6ccc(O[Fe](Oc1cc2ccc(cc2cc1N=O)S(=O)(=O)O[Na])Oc4ccc3cc(ccc3c4N=O)S(=O)(=O)O[Na])c(N=O)c6cc5

*(MPBPVP v1.43) is an application contained in EpiSuite 4.1, the suite of physical/chemical property and environmental fate estimation programs developed by the EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention Toxics and Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC).
