The target substance is hydrolytically unstable with hydrolysis half-life less than 5 minutes. Hydrolysis products include 1 -butanol and hydrated zirconium dioxide. Zirconium dioxide is an inorganic substance and consider not relevant for toxicity evaluation. The intrinsic short-, long-term toxicities of the target substance is based on the organic hydrolysis product.

         The ocatanol-water partition coefficient is 0.88 (log value) for the organic product. The target substance is therefore considered not persistent and no bioaccumulation potential.

         Based on the lowest 96h EC50 to Slenastrum capricornutm of 225mg/l, and no other findings of carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, toxicity to reproduction and long-term toxicity to target organs, the target substance is considered non-toxic.
