Description of key information

Three trophic levels (fish, daphnia, algae) are covered by the acute toxicity data set. No chronic data are available. Daphnia magna was observed to be the most sensitive species. The related 48-h EC50 determined according to the OECD test guideline 202 (2004) was 0.798 mg/L (mean measured concentration).

An activated sludge respiration inhibition test according to OECD 209 resulted in an EC50 of > 1000 mg/L and a NOEC of ≥ 1000 mg/L. There was no significant inhibition of bacterial respiration by the test item up to and including a nominal concentration of 1000 mg per litre.
