- Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Cocoyl proline is produced directly in water solution. In this test, cocoyl proline was tested in the commercialized form, so in aqueous solution.
This choice was taken considering that for measuring toxicity on algae, solids need to be dissolved in water before testing. Furthermore, it provides a better understanding on the properties of the substance in the form that will be in contact with final users
Water percentage in the sample varies between 30 and 50%.
Test organisms
- Test organisms (species):
- Raphidocelis subcapitata (previous names: Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, Selenastrum capricornutum)
Study design
- Test type:
- static
- Total exposure duration:
- 72 h
Results and discussion
Effect concentrations
- Duration:
- 72 h
- Dose descriptor:
- other: Difference (decrease or growth) between medium algae concentration treated with the sample and control
- Remarks:
- 10% of difference
- Effect conc.:
- 0.1 g/L
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- A concentration of 0.1 g/L of the test substance produced a difference (decrease or growth) between medium algae concentration treated with the sample and control of 10% of the population.
