The dissociation constant study for the parent compound palmitoyl chloride (CAS 112 -67 -4) does not need to be performed as the substance is hydrolytically unstable.
The substance rapidly decomposes in water and forms HCl (CAS 7647 -01 -0) and palmitic acid (CAS 57 -10 -3).
For the hydrolysis product palmitic acid (CAS 57 -10 -3) a pKa was calculated with SPARC On-line Calculator to be 4.75. The substance is within the applicability domain of the model.
