Results of the apparatus check:
Atmospheric pressure: 102.9 kPa (in the range of 98.0 -104.7 kPa)
Flash point of anisole was 47.2°C (criteria 43.9 +6°C), which passed the check.
Results of test item:
Results of two individual tests were 200.2°C (103.0kPa) and 202.3°C (103.1kPa). The average value of two results was 201.3°C.
According to the equation (presented in section method), flash point of test item was 201.0°C at standrad atmosphere pressure (101.3 kPa).
Description of key information
The flash point of test item was measured according to ASTM D6450 using closed cup method in two studies.
Measurement was performed in duplicate and flash point was determined to be >200°C.
The test item is NOT classified as flammable liquid according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
- 201 °C
Additional information
Fully reliable experimental studies, conducted according to ASTM D6450 (and one according to GLP) method is available.
It is considered as a key study, and the result is retained as key data.
