Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Flash point: 88 °C (see section 4.11). No flammability classification.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Flammablility of the liquid can be deduced from the flash point (determined by the Pensky-Martens closed cup method, see section 4.11). Flammability of the solid is not relevant due to a low melting point (ca. 33 °C) and handling of the submission substance in the liquid state only.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to a flash point far above 60°C (88°C determined by the Pensky-Martens closed cup method) the submission substance is not classified as flammable liquid.

Classification regarding flammability of solids is not applicable because the submission substance is handled as a liquid (melting point ca. 33 °C).

The structure of the substance and experience from the handling and use of the substance indicate that it is not pyrophoric and does not release flammable gases in contact with water.
