Not relevant due to ready biodegradation

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the hydrolysis of Glycerides, C8-10, mono- and di- (CAS No. 85536-07-8) are available. However, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VIII, Column 2,, testing for hydrolysis is not required since the substance is readily biodegradable. The results from the supporting QSAR estimations calculated for representative fatty acid components (C8 and C10 mono- and di-)(HYDROWIN v2.00) indicate that indeed hydrolysis is not a relevant degradation pathway in the environmental fate of this substance, with half-lives (DT50 values) ranging from 1.2 to 7.7 years at pH 7 and 43.7 to 266 days at pH 8 (López Parrón, 2011).
