Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The mean particle diameter of MBB particles (>32 to <250 µm) without fine dust is 166.6 µm.

Additional information

The particle size distribution of 2-Methoxymethyl-p-phenylenediamine (MBB) was determined following guideline CIPAC Handbook Volume F, MT 59.1 (1995) by sieve analysis method. The sieve analysis was carried out in the dry sieving technique using analytical sieves with the mesh width 32, 45, 63, 90, 125, 150 and 250 μm. Particle size fraction below 32 μm was removed by preliminary sieving with the 32 μm sieve. The amount of fine dust (<32 um) was determined to be 0.27% of the applied mass.

The test was run in single replicate at a temperature range of 20.1 to 23.4°C. The mean particle diameter of the 2-Methoxymethyl-p-phenylenediamine (MBB) particles (>32 to <250 μm) without fine dust was 166.6 μm.
