Additional information

Based on the test results and phys-chem data (low Koc & vapour pressure values, high water solubility) the substance is considered as not highly adsorptive, that indicates that soil and sediment are not expected to be the main target compartments for exposure assessment.

When release in water compartment, the substance is expected to be not persistent. Indeed, although the substance was demonstrated to be hydrolytically stable at environmental conditions, a ready biodegradability study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 301 F and GLP requirements has shown a maximum level of biodegradation of 39% in 28 days (after correction due to nitrification). Therefore, according to these results, Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues is not considered as readily biodegradable but should be considered as inherently biodegradable and thus not persistent in environment.
