PHOTODEGRADATION

Direct Photolysis in Air, Water and Soil

The registration substance TPSAN (Tripropenyl succinic anhydride) as well as the hydrolysis transformation product TPSA (Tripropenyl succinic acid, CAS No. 147384-84-7) do not absorb light >290 nm and therefore will not undergo direct photolysis.

Indirect Photolysis in Air, Water and Soil

Primary degradation by OH radical induced indirect photolysis may occur. The property estimation program US EPA AOPWIN estimates a Half-life of 1.3h for the registration substance TPSAN as well as the hydrolysis transformation product TPSA.

HYDROLYSIS

The registration substance TPSAN (Tripropenyl succinic anhydride) is a reactive substance (strong electrophile) which is rapidly hydrolyzed under environmental conditions (Half-life at 15 deg C 6-82 min pH 9, 4 and 7 respectively, see IUCLID Chapter 5.1.2) to

Tripropenyl succinic acid (TPSA), CAS No. 147384-84-7.
