Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The UV/VIS absorbance spectrum for the UVCB polyglycerine substance indicates absorbance of UV sunlight at wavelenghts in the 280 - 400 nm range; however, direct photolysis of the component substances is not expected to be significant. As is the case for most organic substances, the fate of the components of this UVCB substance in the atmosphere is governed by their reactivity with photochemically-generated hydroxyl radicals in the troposphere. Estimated half-lives for this indirect photolysis reaction range from about 1 (hexaglycerine) to 6.8 hours (glycerine).

The components of the UVCB polyglycerine substance do not possess structural features which are susceptible to hydrolysis under relevant physiological or environmental conditions (pH, temp). In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the hydrolysis study does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable. As such, the fate of the substance components in the aquatic and terrestrial environments will be governed by their rapid biodegradation.
