Additional information

The acute aquatic toxicity to freshwater fish, daphnid, and algae has been evaluated for the registered UVCB substance, with supporting study provided for toxicity of fish to glycerol (primary component). Collectively, these studies indicate no adverse effects at or below 100 mg/L. Where testing has been conducted at sufficient concentration to observe effects in fish and daphnid, the median effect concentrations are in excess of 2,000 mg/L. Because of this lack of observed adverse effect, combined with ready biodegradability of the substance, no further testing of potential chronic effects is justified and the substance is not classified for any known or potential environmental hazards. PNEC values are not derived, as no hazard has been identified at concentrations relevant to classification of aquatic hazards.
