Description of key information

PC 2414 was shown to melt in the range of 59.6 to 108 °C (333 to 381K).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
108 °C

Additional information

PC 2414 was shown to melt in the range of 59.6 to 108 °C (333 to 381K) with large differences noted between the initial melting temperature and the subsequent (freeze and) re-melt temperature. This was considered to be due to some kind of structural transformation of PC2414, espcially as the residues were considered to be somewhat waxy in nature. A small endotherm was seen at approximately 80 °C, but further testing using a metal block apparatus showed no signs of (initial) melting until 94 °C. Therefore, the small endotherm was considered to be due to some kind of structural transformation within PC2414.
