There is no evidence to suggest that linear and branched alkanes present in Hydrocarbons, C16-C22, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics are direct-acting carcinogens. No evidence of hyperplasia is seen in any of the available repeated-dose toxicity studies with related substances, (Section 5.6) and they are not genotoxic (Section 5.7).
