Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The measured water solubility for the test item, < 2.92 mg/L, (Affolter, 2013) under GLP conditions reaches the limit of quatitation for the detection technique used (TOC).

QSAR calculated water solubility values for each of the identified components are all below 3.6E-3 mg/L.

Published data on cholesterol water solubility, one of the main components of the test substance, shows a value in good agreement with the QSAR calculated values (measured 0.025 mg/L vs. estimated 0.004 mg/L).

All other known components of alcohols, lanolin, distn. residues have an estimated solubility below the estimated cholesterol mark.

Additionally, the analogous substance Lanolin alcohols, EC #232 -430 -1, CAS #8027 -33 -6, also shows low solubility, in the range of 0.14 - 0.38 mg/L.
