Description of key information

After evaporation or exposure to the air, the product will be rapidly degraded by photochmical processes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The photodegradation of 3 -methyl-2-butenal in air by reaction with OH radicals was calculated using AOP v1.90. Based on a reaction rate constant k(OH)=0.000000000046696 cm³/molecule*sec and a OH radical concentration of 5 x 10E5 radicals/cm³ (24 -h day) a half-life t1/2=8.2 h was calculated.
