Solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
Administrative data
Link to relevant study record(s)
- Endpoint:
- solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- other: EU Method A.7 (Fat Solubility)
- Deviations:
- no
- Remarks:
- The study was conducted according to the guidelines in effect at the time of study conduct.
- GLP compliance:
- yes
- Medium:
- standard fat
- Solubility:
- 241 mg/100 g solvent
- Temp.:
- 37 °C
- Test substance stable:
- not determined
- Conclusions:
- The fat solubility of the test substance has been determined as 241 mg/100 g Standard Fat at 37ºC.
- Executive summary:
The fat solubility of the test substance was determined in accordance with EEC Directive 67/548, Annex V, A7. Results contained in the report include calibration data, solubility results for each trial, and typical chromatorgams. Values of fat solubility were not corrected for test substance purity. Normally 3-hour and 24 -hour tests are performed. However, in the case of this test substance, longer stirring times were needed to achieve equilibration. Fat solubility was calculated as the mean result of the 24- and 64 -hour tests. The fat solubility was determined as 241 mg/100 g Standard Fat at 37ºC. The associated standard deviation of all tests was 26.8 mg/100 g Standard Fat with a coefficient of variation of 11.1%.
