Description of key information

The information on the log Kow is sufficient for the PBT assessment, as the value is below the cut-off value of 4.5 used for screening. As the substance is readily biodegradable and the available information is also sufficient for classification and labelling. For the chemical safety assessment, the bioconcentration factor (BCF) for aquatic/sediment organisms is estimated using the Veith relationship which is also incorporated in EUSES and which is applicable for substances with a log Kow up to 6: log BCF = 0.85 log Kow - 0.70. With a log Kow value of 2.1, the predicted BCF is 12.2 L/kg w.w. Using this predicted BCF, the chemical safety assessment does not show a need for further refinement. Therefore, the available information is deemed sufficient for the PBT assessment, classification and labelling and the chemical safety assessment and no further testing is required.
