Description of key information

The boiling point/boiling range of a sample of Tetrabenzylthiuram disulfide was determined. Heating the test substance in a melting point apparatus in a sample tube (diameter: 3.2 mm) in which a boiling capillary was immersed, resulted in a boiling range of 420-422 K (147-149°C). During this range the colour changed from orange yellow to brown-orange, which probably indicates decomposition. The measurements were performed at atmospheric pressure.
