Description of key information

No long-term toxicity studies in aquatic invertebrates are available for DPnB.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Diproplylene glycol n-butyl ether (DPnB) is classified as readily biodegradable with a low potential for bioaccumulation. The risk assessment shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio is clearly < 1 in surface water, indicating no need for further information or testing. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations. Hence, long-term testing with aquatic invertebrates can be waived for DPnB.
