Description of key information

No studies on toxicity to birds are available for diproylene glycol butyl ether.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

From a fugacity model (McKay Level III) based on key physical and chemical property parameters, it can be concluded that the ultimate compartment is the aquatic compartment. Therefore, direct and indirect exposure to the soil compartment is unlikely. Dipropylene glycol butyl ether is readily biodegradable and has very low potential for bioaccumulation. Secondary poisoning is therefore not considered as relevant route of exposure for birds.
