Description of key information

The melting temperature of isophorone diisocyanate homopolymer was determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to OECD Test Guideline 102 (1995) and EU test method A.1 (2008). The melting temperature was found to be 73.5 °C (976 hPa). Additional studies show that this is not a melting point but an enthalpy relaxation because the substance is not crystalline.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
73.5 °C
