Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with Annex X column 2 and Annex XI Section 1 (exposure driven considerations), the study does not need to be conducted because the Chemical Safety Assessment indicates further information is not necessary. The substance is not classified for the environment and the results of the aquatic toxicity studies show no effects at the limit of solubility. As such a PNECaqua is not appropriate and using the EPM to derive PNECsoil is also not appropriate. Further work on aquatic toxicity is not necessary according to the Final Decision letter (CCH-D-2114412576-50-01-F) received on 09 July 2018 which requested further information on the PBT properties of the Block 10 Aldehyde consituents in this substance. As a first step Abietal was chosen to represent the Aldehyde Block 10 constituents and a ready biodegradation study was comissioned and depending on the outcome of that study the requirement for further testing for Persistence, Bioaccumulation and Toxicity would not be required. Abietal is considered readily biodegradable and not Persistent and therefore further work on ecotoxicity was not required.
