Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water

Description of key information

Flammability: non flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

In accordance with 'ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance', waiving of elements of the requirements is possible based on both a consideration of structural alerts and experience with handling and use of the substance.

The flash point of the liquid substance was determined to be 258.3 deg C. According to the CLP Regulation 1272/2008/EC (Annex I - Section 2.6) a flammable liquid means a liquid having a flash point of not more than 60 deg C, thus the above substance is not flammable.

No structural alerts are present in the molecule to suggest a concern for flammability and experience with use of the substance indicates that it is not flammable on contact with air (pyrophoric) or on contact with water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification as flammable is not justified by experience with manufacture, handling or and use of the substance
