- The test earthworm (Eisenia foetida) were obtained from Chenggong Earthworm Raising Farm where in Dongli District, Tianjin.
Earthworms had been conditioned for 24 hours in an artificial soil, washed quickly and dried on filter paper. Earthworms were weighed before use and placed on the surface of test medium. Worms were adults (more than two months old with clitellum) with an individual weight of 318 to 593 mg. - Study type:

- Test container (material, size): height: 19cm X length: 12 cm X width: 9 cm. The containers were covered with a glass cover to prevent the earthworms from escaping and drying of the test medium.

EFFECT PARAMETERS MEASURED:
- Survival: Observations were conducted on day 7 and 14. Mortality was assessed by emptying the test medium onto a plate, sorting worms from the medium and testing their reaction to a mechanical stimulus at the front end. After the day 7 assessment, worms and medium were returned to the test containers. Observed behavioral or pathological symptoms were recorded.
- Weight: At the end of the test, the individual weights of all surviving worms in each group were recorded; and mean body weights were calculated for each treatment group as well as the control.

- MORTALITY AND TOXIC SIGNS:
During the exposure period, no deaths and toxic signs were observed in control group and 1000 mg/kg dry soil weight test group.
WEIGHT:
The earthworm mean weight of the control and test group were 0.444 g and 0.456 g, respectively, at beginning of the test.
The weight was slightly decrease at the end of the test, the mean weight were 0.388 g and 0.416 g respectively and decrease rate were 12.6% and 8.8% for the control and test group. - Results with reference substance (positive control):
- The LC50 (14 day) result of the reference substance to earthworm is 24.4 mg/kg dry soil weight, with 95% confidence limits of 22.5-26.5 mg/kg dry soil weight.
