Description of key information

2-ethylhexylamine is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

To assess the biodegradation of 2 -ethylhexylamine, results of a CO2 -Headspace test according to the international standard guideline ISO 14593 are available. In this GLP study a degradation of 70 - 80% after 28 days was reported (BASF 2002). And hence, the substance is readily biodegradable.
