Additional information

Two reliable measured flash point studies are available for the substance from the same author (Haas 2015) from studies conducted in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). A flash point value of 142.5°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 2719 Test Method. Similarly, a limit flash point value of >110°C at 1013 hPa was also determined for the substance using a rapid equilibrium closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 3679 Test Method. The non-equilibrium closed-cup method is selected as key study because it is not a limit value.

Flash point values of 60.5°C and 98.5°C were reported for the substance in accordance with DIN EN 22719 Test Method. The results were disregarded because:

- There is no purity information stated for the test substance

- No details about the study design or performance were available

A flash point value of 142.5°C at 1013 hPa and a boiling point 292.7°C indicate that the substance should not be classified for flammability in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
