Key result
Flash point:
141 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa

In the preliminary test, a clear flash point was observed at a test temperature of about 160°C. Therefore, the main test was also performed with a Pensky-Martens flash point apparatus.

The main test was performed in duplicate. A clear flash point was observed at a test item temperature of 140°C during both main tests at the actual atmospheric pressure of 98.2 kPa.

After correction for the atmospheric pressure, the flash point of the test substance was determined to be 141°C at 101.3 kPa.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
A flash point of 141°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a relevant test method and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable.

Description of key information

Flash point: 141°C at 1013 hPa (ISO 2719)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
141 °C

Additional information

A flash point value of 141°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a Pensky-Martens flash point tester in compliance with ISO 2719 Test Method and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable.

A measured boiling range of 268-342°C and flash point of 141°C at 1013 hPa indicate that the submission substance should not be classified for flammability in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
