Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
03 February -06 April 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to
Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.7200 (Melting Point / Melting Range)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. certificate)
Type of method:
capillary method
Melting / freezing pt.:
> 400 °C

The determination of the melting point was performed by visual judgement using the capillary method.

In the preliminary test up to 400 °C no melting point as described in the guideline could be observed. No colour or physical state changes were noted.

Conclusions:
No melting point of the test material according to the criteria described in the guideline could be observed up to 400 °C.

Description of key information

Melting point: > 400 °C (EU Method A.1, GLP)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The melting/freezing temperature of diphosphoric acid, compound with 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (1:2) was determined by the capillary method using an electronically controlled heating system in a study conducted according to EU Method A.1 and GLP (Wagner-Rivas V, 2017). The melting point of the test material was determined to be greater than 400 °C.
