Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Vapour pressure [Fatty alcohols C16 – C18 (even numbered), branched and linear]: 6.8E-05 - 1.2E-02 Pa at 25°C (QSAR)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Fatty alcohols C16 – C18 (even numbered), branched and linear is a substance of unknown or variable composition (UVCB)containing linear and branched alcohols with carbon number in the range C14-C20. A predicted vapour pressure of 6.8E-05 - 1.2E-02 Pa at 25°C was determined for the constituents of the substance using a validated QSAR estimation method. The result is considered reliable and selected as key study. This value is supported by a vapour pressure of <0.1 hPa at 20°C which was reported for the substance in a secondary source to which reliability could not be assigned.

The results for the individual constituents are meaningful for the purpose of environmental assessment of the substance. For the purpose of human health assessment, the vapour pressure of Fatty alcohols C16 – C18 (even numbered), branched and linear as a whole substance can be considered negligible.
