Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Henry's law constant 3.42E+004 Pa -m3/mol (HENRYWIN v3.20, Group estimation)
Henry's law constant 3.01E+004 Pa m3/mol (HENRYWIN v3.20, Bond estimation)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No studies investigating the Henry's law constant are available for 1,7-Octadiene.

As these studies are not a standard information requirement in REACH and there is no indication from the CSA on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance, no further testing is considered necessary.

However, to estimate PNECsoil by the equilibrium partitioning method, the Henry's law constant was calculated for the test substance. Therefore, the Henry's law constants were calculated using the QSAR HENRYWIN v.3.20. The obtained Henry’s law constants were 3.42E+004 Pa -m3/mol based on group estimation and to 3.01E+004 Pa -m3/mol on bond estimation for 1,7-Octadiene (2013-0146-DKB). The results indicate that evaporation from water into the air is likely.
