Description of key information

Laser diffraction data for the Lead Registrant's copper (II) acetate show the following volume-rated particle size distribution: D(v,0.1) 13.80 µm; D (v,0.5) 86.97 µm; D(v,0.9) 294.00 µm. The corresponding number-based distribution is as follows: D(n,0.1) 1.08 µm; D (n,0.5) 1.52 µm; D(n,0.9) 3.17 µm. Based on the results from the number distribution, the material is not considered to fall under the EC’s recommended definition of nanomaterial (50% < 100 nm based on particle number). Joint registrants that produce or import copper (II) acetate corresponding to this specification are able to refer to the Lead Registrant's granulometry data for the purpose of REACH registration.

Additional information

The Lead Registrant produces copper (II) acetate with the following volume-rated particle size distribution: D(v, 0.1) 13.80, D(v,0.5) 86.97 and D(v,0.9) 294.00. Values for the number-rated distribution were determined to be D(n,0.1) 1.08, D(n, 0.5) 1.52 and D(n,0.9) 3.17.
