Description of key information

The water solubility of cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene was determined according to OECD Guideline 105 (1995) and EU test method A.6 (2008) with the column elution method. The result was 0.28 ± 0.01 mg/l at 20 °C. No effect on pH was observed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.28 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The water solubility of 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene is reported as < 10 mg/l on a public information from the Chemicals Evaluation and Research Institute but experimental details were not available.

In a study from Davis et al. (2006), a value of 0.79 mg/L is reported, but as the method used (comparable to the flask method of the OECD 105 guideline) covers solubilities above 10 mg/L, this value cannot be valid.

Finally, the water solubility of cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene was determined according to OECD Guideline 105 (1995) and EU test method A.6 (2008) with the column elution method: the result was 0.28 ± 0.01 mg/l at 20 °C and no effect on pH was observed.
