Conclusion on classification

Based on all available data 1H-Benzotriazole, Tolyltriazole as well as their conjugated sodium salts are considered as not readily biodegradable. In addition, short-term ecotoxicity studies have shown a low toxicity on all trophic levels while moderate toxicity has been observed in the long-term studies with D. galeata and Desmodesmus subspicatus. Thus, all four substances have been classified to be hazardous to the aquatic environment category Chronic 2.
