Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Short term tests with freshwater species of three trophic levels (fish, daphnia, algae) are available for Glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. mono- and di-, acetates (CAS No. 91052 -13 -0). Fish and daphnia did not show any effects up to the limit of the water solubility, but for aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) an ErC50 of 11 mg/L and a NOEC of 6.6 mg/L was determined. Long-term tests with fish and aquatic invertebrates were not conducted as the chemical safety assessment does not indicate a need for further long-term investigations. The inhibitory effects on the respiration of activated sludge of Glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. mono- and di-, acetates were not investigated in a separate test, as a toxicity control in the ready biodegradability test showed that the test substance is not inhibiting the respiration of sewage treatment microorganisms at a concentration of 15.1 mg/L. Thus, Glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. mono- and di-, acetates are of low concern for sewage treatment plants, but show low toxic effects on aquatic algae.
