Description of key information

DMCHA is considered as readily biodegradable, therefore further studies on the biodegradation in water and sediment are not provided.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
[Specific explanation in addition to field 'Justification for data waiving']
According to Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, Annex IX, Sections 9.2.1.2 and 9.2.1.4 column 2, a simulation study on ultimate degradation in surface water and sediment does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. DMCHA (CAS 98-94-2) is readily biodegradable (90-100% DOC consumption after 18 days, OECD 301 A; BASF AG, 2004; see IUCLID Ch. 5.2.1). Therefore, a study on ultimate degradation in surface water and sediment is not performed.
