Description of key information

If released into water, 2-propylheptan-1-ol is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).

2 -propylheptan-1 -ol was shown to be readily biodegradable in the ISO 9439 test (comparable to the Modified Sturm test, OECD 301 B) using non-acclimated activated sludge from a laboratory wastewater treatment plant fed with municipal sewage. Biodegradation was about 90% after 28 days based on CO2 elimination (BASF 2000).
