Description of key information

The measured 11d-NOEC of the structurally related substance TMAC to Daphnia magna was 30 µg/L. Based on molecular weight (91 g/mol for TMAOH and 110 g/mol for TMAC), this corresponds with 25 µg/L TMAOH.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Justification for use of the study performed with TMAC for determination of the long-term toxicity of TMAOH to Daphnia magna is given in the attached Read Across document.

The long-term toxicity of the structurally related substance TMAC with Daphnia magna was carried out in accordance with EPA/600/4-85/014 and GLP under semi-static conditions (Dow Chemical Co. (1991). Nominal concentrations were confirmed by analytical measurements. The measured 11d-NOEC of TMAC to Daphnia magna was 30 µg/L. Based on molecular weight (91 g/mol for TMAOH and 110 g/mol for TMAC), this corresponds with 25 µg/L TMAOH
