A viscosity value of > 3.64 to < 3.88 mPa s at 20 °C was determined for the fusel oil substance according to DIN 51 377. The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as the key study.
Measured values for fusel oil from supporting studies give viscosities of >3 and <4 mPa s, and 3.1 mPa s at 20 °C.
The viscosity value for fusel oil is further supported by measured viscosities for the four main components of fusel oil; 2-methylpropan-1-ol, 2-methylbutan-1-ol and 3-methylbutan-1-ol (4.3 to 5.5 mPa s), and ethanol (1.17 to 1.22 mPa s).
