Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
A flash point value of 103 ± 1.0 °C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance according to a guideline test method in compliance with GLP. This result is considered to be reliable.

Description of key information

Flash point: 103 ± 1.0 °C at 1013 hPa (ISO 3679)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
103 °C

Additional information

A flash point value of 103 ± 1.0 °C at 1013 hPa was determined for the submission substance using a closed-cup Setaflash method according to EU method A.9 and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable and selected as key.

In available secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, flash point values in the range of 92 - 110°C, were reported for the substance.

Variations in the flash point values may be caused by variations in purity of the test substance and in the test method used.

With a measured flash point of 103 ± 1.0 °C at 1013 hPa and a measured boiling point of 253°C at 1017 hPa, the substance should not be classified as a flammable liquid according to the criteria of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
