Reference
Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation based on log Kow <=3

Description of key information

Bioaccumulation: aquatic/sediment: low potential for bioaccumulation

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance hydrolyses rapidly in contact with water to substances which have low log Kow values (< 3) and thus have low potential for bioaccumulation, and the requirement for testing is waived. The parent substance itself also has a log Kow value < 3.

This conclusion is supported by BCF values of ≤ 3.5 (nominal concentration 5 mg/L) and ≤ 34 (nominal concentration 0.5 mg/L)  in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) determined in a study conducted similar to an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP. The study is considered to be reliable with restrictions; the restrictions are that the use of a dispersant is not considered to be necessary for the test substance. The study report is only available in Japanese, and therefore limited details are available.
